containing 80 b/w and coloured automatic drawings drawn in Florence 1965. Richard Mortensen (1910-1993) is without doubt the artist who has been most important for the development of the abstract art in Denmark - as an artist as well as writer and educator. He was one of the persons taking initative in starting the group Linien and the periodical with the same name. Also internationally he asserted himself strongly, especially during his residence in Paris 1947-1963 where he exhibited at Denise René. Beyond his paintings, Mortensen, strongly inspired by Kandinsky, made a series of automatic drawings which in harmony with the theories of psychoanalysis arised as messages from the unconscious mind. These drawings could be conclusive works of art, or they could be used as material for the painting. This collection should, according to the information received, come from the late Copenhagener artdealer Hybler, who in the 1960ies had close connection to Galerie Denise René in Paris and who also was artdealer for Richard Mortensen. According to the same source the collection was done, spontaneously, when Mortensen received the information of the sudden death of his friend Jean Corbusiers.
