4 authentic documentations from the Soviets liberation of Belarus in the Second World War. Two of them very dramatic. One depicting a fugitive with his dog and oddments resting and another depicting a couple escaping from their home with fire and smoke in the background.

In June 1944 more than 2.5 million Soviet troops went into action against the German Army Group Centre in White Russia. The Germans, which counted less than 800,000 men, crumbled with the loss of almost 400,000 men who were either overrun or encircled. The capital of Belarus, Minsk, was taken on July 3.
